About
You could say that Concrete Statement began with a craftsman and a canoe. Meet Kevin Gerbrandt; a creative problem solver with a passion for designing and creating objects. Having been involved in furniture making and home renovation for years; it was a cedar strip canoe built using reclaimed cedar that was ultimately the catalyst for a future of creativity in mixed elements. Concrete Statement is a Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) shop based in Morden, Manitoba, Canada. We build architectural and artistic concrete products to be used inside and outside of homes and businesses across Canada. We have worked alongside industry leaders in Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete and continue to pursue the fine details of this medium.

Our goal is to be continuously learning and growing with our clients by finding new ways to incorporate raw and local materials into our projects. Combining natural elements such as concrete, wood, and steel, Concrete Statement creates beautiful and functional objects that are meant to be a permanent part of your story. Your new Concrete Statement piece cannot be duplicated. The natural characteristics of it’s raw materials are what make it unique. It is an investment, and by building each one with a passion for timeless modern design, you know it will be a conversation piece to be loved and gathered around for generations.
Furniture
We love creating furniture and regularly design and build pieces for our own line of originals. Alternatively your furniture pieces can be commissioned and built to order. Concrete is usually the main ingredient however we love how multiple different raw materials can go so well together. Concrete Statement will work with you to create a design that works in your space. All dimensions, materials, and colours will be specifically tailored for you so that your new piece is truly yours.
Finishings
Concrete finishings are a way to complete your project with an absolutely unique statement. We regularly build countertops and fireplace surrounds but because Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete allows us to create light weight, durable, and heat resistant products we hope to stretch your imagination. From concrete doors and light fixtures to art pieces and feature walls, there is a good chance that the off the wall idea you have is not only possible, but beautiful. Don’t be limited by what you have seen already done by others, the only limitation is our collective imagination. Click here to view our projects
Architectural
Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete’s unique characteristics blend form and function to make our product an ideal medium for any commercial build. Your project will achieve the look, feel and durability of traditional concrete at a fraction of the weight. All products are pre-cast in a workshop environment and then delivered and installed or shipped to the work site. If you need 1 or 1000 pieces, Concrete Statement can work with you to find the best solution. Click here to view our projects
Care
A lot of care and detail went into your new statement piece and you will want to treat it as such. It is important to remember that concrete is porous and therefore, like other natural materials, can build up patina over time. We use a variety of methods to finish our concrete depending on the application and will discuss the appropriate one for each project. Clean with a soft damp cloth with mild dish soap. Always use hot pads and cutting boards. Promptly wipe up spills, including water.
